With Ken's storytelling approach to photography, the focus is on the overall experience rather than the traditional process of picture-taking. He encourages the bride and groom to have an amazing time with family and friends, finds ways to enhance and extend the best moments, and then captures the flow of those moments along the way. He takes his time and lets the story happen. This relaxed approach takes awkwardness and stress out of the equation, and leaves more room for pure fun. In fact, taking photos with Ken is not an intermission between the more enjoyable parts of the day—it is one of the enjoyable parts of the day.
Oakwood Studio Signature Art Books
Our signature art books are a natural extension of Ken’s storytelling style. A single photo may be beautiful, but a series of images that are carefully crafted into a narrative can have an exponential impact in allowing couples to relive their wedding journey.
When Ken is photographing a wedding, he’s also designing in his mind, constantly identifying ways to turn great moments into beautiful spreads and storylines. In the studio, Ken and his staff creatively blend all of those elements together, designing multi-page art books that tell the longer tale and are the perfect marriage between substance and style. The finished piece is then printed by world-renowned Italian bookmaker Graphistudio using special covers, inks and binding techniques. The result is a gorgeous, hard-bound coffee table book that enables you to revisit your favorite moments again and again.
Photo Motion DVD
In addition to the signature art books, your story can also be told in digital format. Oakwood Studio offers a DVD of art book images that are transformed into a slide show and set to music, allowing you to easily take your memories on the road and share them with friends and family on any computer.
Custom Prints
Share your favorite moments with family and friends through artistically remastered prints, enlargements or canvas artwork of selected images. Oakwood Studio offers you a wide variety of sizes and options to choose from.
Celebrating Your Engagement
Scheduling an engagement shoot is the perfect introduction to Ken’s storytelling approach to photography, and a wonderful way to get to know the staff (and let them get to know you) well before your wedding day. You’ll get some incredible images to carry you through the coming months, and by the time your wedding day arrives, having them around will seem like second nature!
Destination Weddings
While Oakwood Studio is based in the western Ky, the team is happy to accommodate up to six destination weddings each year. Ken has photographed weddings in various locations around the country, including Florida, Tennessee, and Illinois, to name a few. Oakwood Studio welcomes the opportunity to accompany you to your destination wedding.
